Delhi govt now starts putting land data online to curb fraud

Mumbai: As the number of cases of public land being secretly transferred in the name of private persons and companies, Delhi government has now putting up data of acquired land, evacuee properties and Gram Sabha properties online.

Such an exercise will help sub-registrars in determining if the land piece being registered is already acquired or in the process of acquisition.

Before the registration of the property, sub-registrars need No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Now the data on acquired pieces of land will also be put online so that sub-registrars would not be required to wait for the NOC. They can simply check status of the piece of land being acquired on their computers.

If the data of the piece of land being acquired or is in the process for acquisition is unavailable on the portal and then it is registered, the sub-registrars will not be responsible.
